Hi, I’m Rakesh Gautam, an Azure Integration Specialist and Technical Lead.

I build scalable, event-driven architectures with AI tools in the loop. Since 2017 I’ve worked across Azure and .NET, turning complex integrations into resilient, cost-efficient solutions.

How I Work With AI

Most of my day runs through an agentic harness: Pi, or OpenCode, running against commandcode.ai or a local model. I still reach for Copilot, Codex and Claude where they fit.

The models are mostly open source, which is what makes running them locally an option at all, with Ollama and LM Studio when the work shouldn’t leave the machine. Where a task repeats often enough to be worth automating, I wire up MCP servers and custom agents for it.

It pays off most on the parts nobody enjoys: scaffolding handlers, or reading through a legacy system to work out what it does before I change it.

It falls apart where the context only lives in people’s heads. A model will happily write the XSLT, but it can’t tell you why the map is shaped that way, or that a downstream system depends on the quirk you were about to clean up. That gap is the job. What I Work On

Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus and Azure Data Factory, along with the PostgreSQL, storage and OAuth pieces around them. Most of my work is event-driven integration: messaging, API layers, and the monitoring that keeps a distributed system debuggable.

What I Build

I build enterprise integration across legacy and modern systems: API gateways, event-driven microservices, and libraries the rest of the team reuses. That has included migrating BizTalk Server estates onto Azure Integration Services, reworking schemas, maps and orchestrations into Functions, Logic Apps and APIM policies.
